This project has ended.
Thank you to all who have supported our Graphic Design students!
Each year in December, our graphic design alumni have the opportunity to view outstanding Radford student graphic design work in our annual "Student Graphic Design Show and Alumni Meet & Greet.” Our alumni may also participate in the online judging for the year’s best student work.
The student projects that receive the most votes will be entered into the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) Western Virginia Advertising Award Show – The Addys – in Roanoke. These winning entries could have an opportunity to advance and compete at the district and national level. The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence.
In order for these projects to be entered into this prestigious competition, we need your help!
Each student entry in the AAF awards is $25. That means for every $25 donated, one of our outstanding students' work will be entered into our region's most prestigious graphic design awards competition, and your gift can help an exceptional Radford University student designer bring home a district, and maybe even a national, AAF award.
Our goal is to raise $500-$600 annually to keep the tradition of submitting 20-25 student entries alive. Please consider a gift today to help us open doors for our students to participate in The Addys, showcase their work and have the opportunity to stand out among their peers in the region, or even the nation!
RECENT ACCOLADES |
Brittiany Rorrer won a Silver for her Nature Anatomy poster series and both a Gold and Judge’s Choice award for “Cooking and Cuisine.” Her entry was featured in the ceremony’s official program, as was Valerie Ray’s Kilt Guilt.
Ms Rorrer’s “Cooking and Cuisine” project has since gone on to win a Silver award in the AAF's District competition (against students from the states of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina). Her work will be competing this summer at the AAF National Competition in St. Louis!
Valerie Ray garnered both a Gold and Judge's Choice award in the Sales Promotion Packaging category for a fictional brewery, Backyard Brewing, that subtly played on the University’s Highlander identity.
Emily Woods’s Silver Addy came from her work, rebranding Lipton Tea, that she produced last fall in her Packaging and 3D Design class. The project asked her to redesign the Lipton Tea logo and branding currently seen in stores.
Every gift of $25 covers one student's entry into the Regional American Advertising Federation Award Show in Roanoke.
