New people, new cultures, new languages and new ways of life. The benefits of traveling abroad during the college years are numerous. The Radford University Men's Basketball team has a tremendous opportunity this August to travel, tour and compete in Tokyo, Japan. Your support for this trip will enable our student-athletes to gain confidence, perspective and a deeper understanding of the world around us.
The men’s basketball team is traveling to Tokyo, Japan to compete in the World University Basketball Series which is being run by Rakuten Sports. This is the second year of the event, and Radford is the first university from the United States to compete in the event. Other countries that are represented by one of their universities in the event include Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Chinese Taipei, and Australia. Radford was selected by Rakuten Sports due to one of our returning players, Ibu Yamazaki, being from Tokyo, Japan along with the program’s success.
