Paul Harris Leadership Scholarship

Paul Harris Leadership Scholarship

Dr. Paul Harris spent an entire career dedicated to education and leadership, beginning with teaching middle school science in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He then transitioned to a career in higher education at Henderson State University, with later stints at Stephen F. Austin University and the University of Arkansas. In 1990, he became the Vice President of Student Affairs at Radford University. He served in that position until 1999 after which he returned to the faculty, where he enjoyed teaching the next generation of higher education leaders. He retired from Radford in 2006.

Paul was dedicated to developing future leaders, and his relationships with students kept him energized throughout his career. He believed that institutions were uniquely qualified to educate the whole student and that Radford University was dedicated to that mission. He also believed in the importance of a strong relationship between the town and the University and made that a priority during his tenure at Radford. He was active in the First Baptist Church of Radford and the local Rotary Club.

Because of this dedication to future leaders, he asked that people donate in his memory to the Paul Harris Leadership Scholarship to provide financial support to future leaders studying at Radford University. His obituary can be found here.

Honor the life and legacy of Paul with a gift to his leadership scholarship today.
