Artis College Research Opportunities

Artis College Research Opportunities

The opportunity to participate in undergraduate research is critical to developing the next generation of scientists.

In the Artis College of Science and Technology, we pride ourselves on the ability to make available these transformational opportunities to Radford students, allowing them to stand out among their undergraduate peers at other institutions.  Typically, these types of opportunities are not available until graduate school, and it is a hallmark of the Radford Experience that our students begin much earlier than their peers.

We need help to grow and enhance this program.

We want to create a vibrant summer research program where dozens of Radford University undergraduate students spend 8-12 weeks on campus during the summer mentored by dedicated faculty supervisors and fully devoted to research that can lead to a presentation at a national conference and/or publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Since many of our students rely on summer jobs to bolster their capacity to cover academic expenses for the upcoming year, many are unable to engage in summer research. With this in mind, we are striving to provide a summer stipend via the Artis College Research Opportunities Fund to provide the opportunity to participate in summer research for financially-challenged students. We wish to make the best component of a Radford University science education – participation in research – accessible to all students.
